Aron Benon is a visionary entrepreneur with an intuitive understanding of the way social media works to connect people and to turn ideas into reality. After a successful career as the founder of both brick and mortar and internet startups, Aron realized he had gained 40 lbs along with a great deal of business expertise. His muscles ached. His clothes didn’t fit, and he was binging on unhealthy food. He felt terrible, and decided to do something about it. He went to the gym but was confused about where to begin. Lacking guidance, he struggled to get results.
Connecting with a trainer and a dietician helped, but while he was starting to lose weight, something was missing. Losing weight alone wasn’t exciting. Without the right support, he couldn’t imagine staying motivated enough to keep the weight off. In 2007, Aron organized his first meltdown challenge. He invited members of his local gym to join and make weight loss more fun. Accountability and social support, mixed with some friendly competition, made the weight loss process much more effective. After the success of the first group, he began offering Competitive Meltdown Challenges to the public, using the power of digital and social media. For Aron, nothing is more fulfilling than helping people who think it is impossible to lose weight and feel better create real and lasting changes in their lives.
